Approach to Therapy

What Therapy/Counselling with Me Looks Like

I see the therapeutic journey as a commitment to reclaiming self-care, attending to old scars, healing fresh wounds, building healthy relationships, and recognizing self-worth. I will accompany you on that journey with genuine curiosity and no judgment. I will invite you to explore, recognize, cultivate and realize, with care, what is life-giving for you.

Approach to Therapy

I engage a trauma-informed, person and/or community-centred, strength-based approach that centres:

  • Equity

  • Anti-violence

  • Anti-oppression

  • Anti-colonialism

  • Decoloniality

  • Commitment to all practices that contribute to harm reduction and autonomous choices

  • Affirming one’s journey in exploring their body (soma), spirit, thoughts, family of choice, sexuality, gender identity, and gender expression

Modalities (Tools)

I practice Integrative Psychotherapy as I realize that engaging different approaches and evidence-based practices in psychotherapy and counselling account for much of the effectiveness of the journey of explorations and healing. That approach creates contextual interventions and recognizes the uniqueness of each client and what they bring to each session.
